At the November ExCom meeting the IEEE Columbus Executive Commitee were greeted by John Schrock CEO and Founder of Roots Up. According to the Columbus section Chair, Carl Lee, IEEE Columbus is required to take part in a humanitarian project with a service called S.I.G.H.T. (Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology). Roots Up is a humanitarian project which IEEE Columbus plans to support through S.I.G.H.T. but to receive the grant to be a part of this project 6 IEEE Columbus members must approve its worthyness.
